Vital charitable support totalling over £219,000 has been provided across our Province.
The figures, published in the 2024/25 Impact Report from the Masonic Charitable Foundation (MCF, the Freemasons’ charity), highlight a year of improving lives for disadvantaged children and older people.
The grants are administered through the MCF, which is funded entirely by Freemasons, their families, and friends from across England and Wales. Nationally, the MCF awarded £27.4 million in grants last year alone.
Martin Eggermont, Chair of YNER Festival 29, said:
“It’s not just about presenting a cheque; it’s about changing lives right here on our doorstep. We see the challenges people in our area are facing every day – from families struggling to make ends meet to elderly residents battling loneliness – and we simply cannot stand by. We are incredibly proud to step up and provide this support. Whether it’s giving a child a brighter future or ensuring dignity for those in hospice care, these contributions are about building a stronger, kinder community for everyone.”
Les Hutchinson, Chief Executive of the MCF, added:
“The generosity of YNER Freemasons is truly remarkable. Thanks to their support we can continue to tackle some of society’s biggest challenges and make a real difference to thousands of people who rely on these charities for help.”
